12.1 Based on a successful test, the MORL is now making rule 12.1 a permanent rule. This rule worked well during the test to improve on the MORL Family Racing Attitudes and Sportsmanship along with trying to reduce the number of cautions per race.
We will be putting up a post each week in each series pre race notes forum. The post will be titled “XX Yellow flag roll call”, where XX will be the name of that week's race. Members that are involved in a yellow flag incident for that race are REQUIRED to make a post in this thread. You will be required to include the following information only.
- Your name
- Lap of incident
- Other drivers involved
- Optional - You may take responsibility for the incident and ask for a deduction based on the rule in violation.
- You will now be required to add to the post that you have or have not discussed the incident with the other drivers, and the outcome of that discussion.
Please do not describe the incident unless you intend to take responsibility. Drivers will not make accusations in this forum. This post will be closed 72 hours after the finish of the race, and the points will be calculated and posted the next day. We hope that members will take the opportunity to admit if they were wrong and in violation of a MORL rule. This not only saves the admin time, but it reinforces the family atmosphere we strive to create here in the MORL.
(Rule 12.1 is a 5 point penatly for not posting for a none contact yellow ie. blown motor or solo. It is a 15 point penalty for not posting for a contact directly invloved with the yellow. A 20 point penalty will be given for using the roll call to vent or complain about an incident)
Note: A driver is still allowed to file for any penalty he wishes to pursue through the normal penalty procedures in place.
Examples of what one might post…
PsycNitro on lap 35 was involved in an incident with Mobil1. I pushed up and was in violation of rule 8.5. I take responsibility and the point deduction. Very sorry Pete.
PsycNitro on lap 73 lost control and spun collecting several cars causing a yellow including Joe1375, Doc, and Firearm. Because there is no penalty in place I can only say I'm sorry for causing damage to your cars.
PsycNitro on lap 101 was involved in an incident with Firearm.
Firearm on lap 101 was involved in an incident with PsycNitro. I was in violation of rule 8.4 and take responsibility and the point deduction. Very sorry for getting into the back of you Nitro.
The MORL reserves the right to make adjustments to the rules as needed
to make this a better league to race in.
