8.1 Lapped
or slower cars off the pace will Auto Chat telling faster cars to pass
high or low and yield the preferred line. Note: Lead lap drivers, it is
still your responsibility to maneuver safely around lapped or slower cars
with a clean pass. Off the pace can also mean a driver runs down a driver
from several seconds back with no traffic restricting each driver. (-10)
8.2 Lapped cars can fight to stay on lead lap if they
are running the pace of lead lap cars.
8.3 No Blocking. Constantly moving high then low would
be considered blocking. Running the same line will not be considered blocking
at tracks like Talladega and Daytona where the front car seems slower.
(-10)
8.3.1 Drivers can maintain their positions in latter stages of a race whether being for position or lap down. This means that a driver may hold his position
by maintaining and running a consistent line. The driver will not be allowed
to block the car behind by moving high and low. The car behind still has
the responsibility to make a clean pass, as per the rules. The latter
stages will be considered the last 10% or 15 laps, which ever is less.
This will be discussed in pre-race so everyone understands.
NOTE: Please keep in mind that forcing someone to make a less than safe
pass usually ends up causing a bad situation for both drivers that could
end up costing both valuable positions. With that said it is often better
to just let the faster car go.
If a incident occurs during this portion of the race, the guilty driver
will be accessed an addition penalty of (-15)
8.4 Drivers need to respect the braking points of drivers
ahead. The car following should break earlier to avoid collisions or pushing
up with car on the outside. Wrecking or spinning out another driver from
behind (meaning behind rear tire) will result in a penalty unless the
driver in front is not clearly in control of his car. Not in control would
mean hit the apron, hit or tapped outside wall with no time for driver
behind to react. (-15)
8.5 Pushing up, or pinching a car down causing a wreck
in the turns, will result in a penalty. (-15)
8.6 Drivers should not make diving pass attempts entering
a corner. A driver will abort the pass attempt if his front tire is not
past the rear tire of the driver your trying to pass entering the corner.
Drivers should not pinch off pass attempts entering a corner. You should
yield and move high if the other driver gets his front tire past your
rear tire entering the corner. (-15)
8.7 If during a race you leave or spin off the track,
or end up wrecked on the track, do not re enter onto the track or move
back into the racing groove before using your F2/enter key to verify you
are clear. Drivers will also check the F5 key if suffering any damage
to make sure you have all tires. (-15)
8.8 It is the responsibility of the trailing car to
avoid cars ahead that are slowing for a accident on the track. Any driver
who does not "to the best of his ability" avoid a car slowing
and causes damage will be penalized. (-25)
The MORL reserves the right to make adjustments to the rules as needed
to make this a better league to race in.
